Gordon In Hot Seat

From Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun:

"The indications are Laviolette has already received interest from a couple of teams that might want to make a change. GMs can’t afford to waste time because with the compressed schedule, a team could easily be out of the playoff race by mid-November.

That means struggling teams are going to be quick to pull the trigger.

The Maple Leafs (Ron Wilson), Islanders (Scott Gordon) and Wild (Todd Richards) are all off to slow starts. Richards was just hired and Wilson has been given a vote of confidence. There’s a lot of talk that Gordon might be on the hotseat."
While it makes some sense about the compressed schedule, I don't think Gordon is in jeopardy just yet. All the Islanders have to do is continue with improvement and wins. They just went through a rough part of the schedule, and need to bounce back. Here is a foreseeable problem. The fans will
want this in the worst way. This will be an ongoing problem for Gordon if he cannot get this team to at least play respectable hockey and soon.
