Blake Going To Anaheim, & Now Detroit

I know that basically the top Western Conference teams are in the hunt for Blake. However, it's been said that Nashville, Vancouver, Detroit, San Jose and Dallas all have interest. From another "source" of mine, the Islanders are ready to trade Jason Blake to the Ducks. Please stay tuned...

UPDATE!!! IF the Ducks cannont get there hands on Geurin, then Blake is their next option. But who will they give up? sounds like a first rounder. But I would like to see the Isles get their kid Cory Perry.

UPDATE!!! This coming from the Detroit Free Press: The Red Wings are still looking around for more depth in the hopes of adding another forward before this afternoon’s NHL trade deadline. The New York Islanders have called and offered Jason Blake; he doesn’t have much size (he’s listed as 5-foot-10) but he put the puck in the net 29 times in 62 games this season.

Not a good hockey player???? what league are you watching??? Blake is a guy that gives 100% every night and by the way is leading the islanders in points. He suits the new NHL perfectly and is also a speedster. Any team would be lucky to have him, and I too hope he stays an Islander.

isls would have to get a 1st and a super prospect plus a conditional 1st if he resigns--just like st. louis got

Not a chance at Perry -- he's ten yeasrs younger than Blake and has about 20-22 goals this season... it would take Blake and a 1st round pick FROM the Isles to have a chance at that kid...

I think that Blake will stay put. You've seen Garth be very cautious with his moves - partly in fact that he is still learning the role, partly because the backlash many of the islander faithful would bash him for getting milbury-esque with any lopsided trades.

I think Blake stays. I love him, but I hop he goes, since at least this way, we get SOMETHING for him instead of an empty locker July 2.

Just my 2 cents... god, isn't it great to be back in the playoff race again???
